First Semester Course........................1/2 Credit Prerequisite.........................................Participation in a concert band (winds & percussion)
The Marching Band is made up of five distinct sections that perform as one unit – winds, drumline, color guard, majorettes, and drum majors. Auditions are required for sections except for winds. Rehearsals are held outside of the school day. The Marching Band performs at all home varsity football games, as well as a variety of invitationals during in the fall. In addition, the Marching Band also performs as part of the annual Walled Lake Memorial Day parade. There is a required marching band camp held in August that all members must arrange to attend. Wind players and percussionists must be enrolled in one of the Northern concert bands. Color Guard members and Majorettes are expected to participate in one of the Fine Arts courses offered at WLN.

Year Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6:00-8:00pm (School year rehearsals begin the week after camp - before school starts, they run 6:00-9:00pm.)

Obligations:
The 2020 fee for participation in
Marching Band is $505 (student) & $325 (each sibling). This fee includes most expenses during the
Marching Band Season including Home Camp meals, Away Camp room & board,
transportation, instructors, drill, music, and invitational fees. Payments can be made via PayPal (see below), by check or available Scrip funds. Uniform
Information:
Summer Uniform: consists of the Official Marching Band uniform
shirt (included in the participation fee
for NEW MEMBERS), tennis shoes, white socks, and khaki shorts, and it is
worn at the Away Camp performance and the Walled Lake Memorial Day Parade.
Official Uniform: is provided by the school. Students must
supply black marching band gloves and black uniform marching shoes. Signed Uniform Contracts are due during Home
Camp.
Water/Bottles

water bottle for every rehearsal/camps.
